Japan Earthquake Happened June, 23th 2011.Another Japan earthquake happened today, June 23, 2011.

The epicenter of the new Japan earthquake occurred near the east coast of Honshu, Japan, the same epicenter as the deadly March 11, 2011 earthquake.

According to U.S. Geological Survey, the 6.7 magnitude earthquake centered at about 40 kilometers from Northern Iwate Prefecture on the Honshu Island, around 530 kilometers to the northeast of Tokyo - the same area where the 9.0 magnitude earthquake hit Japan last March 11.

Three (3) minutes after the 6.7 magnitude earthquake, the Japan Meteorological Agency has issued a tsunami warning for Iwate Prefecture located in the Tōhoku region of Honshū island in Japan, but was canceled after about one hour.

The height of the tsunami was expected to be about 0.5 meters and arrival was expected between 7:00 and 7:20AM.

The tsunami warning was later cancelled at 7:45 AM.

The June 23, 2011 earthquake is already the 3rd strongest since the March 11, 2011 earthquake which registered at 9.1 magnitude.

The other two strong quakes occurred last April 7 and 11, both at 7.1 magnitude.
