On "Weeds", Nancy Botwin is thrown for a loop when Andy and Shane show up on her doorstep while she struggles to create a new life for herself in New York. Additionally, Silas seeks to launch a state side modeling career, and Doug looks up an old friend.
On "Big C", frustrated Cathy resorts to supernatural aid when she is not able to land a spot in the clinical trial of a new treatment by a respected oncologist (Alan Alda). Sean becomes assertive around the house while Adam capitalizes on his classmates' sympathy about his mother's illness.
"Weeds" and "The Big C" air every Monday at 10:00 P.M. and 10:30 P.M. respectively. The former has just cast Michelle Trachtenberg ("Buffy the Vampire Slayer") as Emma, a low-level pot dealer who gets the attention of Silas. Michelle's character is set as a rival to Mary-Louise Parker's Nancy.
If you’re a fan of the show you may recall that during the last seconds of season 6 Nancy Botwin turned herself into the FBI as the rest of her family boarded a plane for Europe. The new season will find Botwin living in New York City after leaving a stint in prison.
It’s still unclear if Weeds will end after this season with show creator Jenji Kohan telling the LA Times that the season is being written so it could carry on with further episodes or end in a series finale.
In other news the game Weeds Social Club debuted in “closed beta” on Facebook today. The game requires that users grow and sell pot to save their homes and has been fashioned off the Weeds series. It’s still unclear if Facebook will take issue with the game, however since they currently allow Mafia Wars to be played I have a feeling it will be allowed. The game is said to be like Farmville for marijuana.
